I fell in love with shave ice in Hawaii, but it’s really hard to find good shave ice where I live. Happily, thanks to the Green City Market Chef BBQ event, restaurant called Gaijin that serves kakagori, the Japanese shaved ice dessert, and it is wonderful!
The best thing?
Buried under the cone of icy goodness is ice cream or sherbet.
Go there, get the okonomiyaki (Japanese pancake – not that kind of pancake), and enjoy the kakagori!
